Register as new user

I've made a few updates to the security on the site, so I'm not flooded with blogcomments and guestbook entries advertising for viagra or sleazy pornsites.
So to post to the site, you now need to be signed in - sorry! But it's an easy process to sign up. Fill in 5 fields, click the link in the confirmation e-mail you get - and I'll grant you the rights to post.
BUT... then it'll be a little easier for you to post on the site - as your details will already be on the forms :-)(edited: 21.01.2007)

So whats all this then? I've been working on an image upload feature combined with the photo albums I'm trying to make. So why not try and take the same snippets of code and use them on the user profile. So now users have an image upload allowence and can upload images on their profile page (once you're an approved user). Later on these pics will get into use on other parts of the website.
More news on that as I get things up and working.

The photo albums are now up and running... for now anyways! I'm still not quite satisfied with them - and want more. But they're viewable for now. Think there will be an option to view the LARGE (original) size of the photos at some point.. well, why not? I've got the server space to publish the large files anyways.

The new menu-admin system I've built for this new layout, will automatically tell you if a page has been "closed down for maintainence". When you hoover over it, the background will go red and you'll get a "tooltip" with an explanation.

So - this is the big moment! I've set the wheels in motion - and switched to the new site-format! Yay :o)
Fingers crossed. There are a few areas not working yet - it's: 'about me', 'photos', 'fun' and 'movie quotes'. They'll be added as we go along. But I felt I was far enough in the proceedings to air the new format! Enjoy!!

What is it with boys and their toys? hehe
I'd say some of my favourite toys would be my car and my iPod. And now I just saw on the VW website, that they sell an iPod adapter for the radiosystem in my car. Well, I knew you could get one off the internet anyways, but when the VW dealers are selling one, it's probably a bit safer to go for that - then I'll be able to complain if somethings wrong. So for now, I'm waiting for a price from them :o)
Just imagine - having a 40GB jukebox attached to the car radio! Well, I sure like the idea of that! But thats not such a big surprise he he

Not really done much with this new toy so far - sent an e-mail to the dealer asking for a price on it, but didn't get a reply. So now I've ordered it through the mechanic I've been using. It's on backorder - but he'll get back to me when it's delivered. HURRAY :o)

Thursday it's i-day... installation day.. iPod day :o) It's going to be GREAT!

Once again... it's a summer vacation spent doing some nice updates on this site. I'm really chuffed with the things I've got on here now. Obviously I want to improve things even more - will I ever be satisfied?

So what are the changes then? eh?
I've been using more and more CSS - that can be noticed with the thin borders on tables and so on. It really makes things easier and saves you from having to write the same code over and over and over again.
I've also taken my mySQL database into use with the new Guestbook and the new Blog (web log -> diary).

I also think the new "box-in-box" design is quite nice. So my next step would probably be to change the design on the Music section as well. Would be quite nice to get some of the code out of that and use more CSS.

So go on... have a nosey around. If you have any comments, suggestions or find faults - please feel free to contact me!
